Usage Process:

The operation of a hook-lift refuse truck involves a systematic hydraulic process. 1) Arrival & Positioning: The driver maneuvers the truck to align its rear-mounted hydraulic hook-arm system precisely with the latching points (pins) on the specialized detachable refuse container (often called a skip, bin, or hopper) positioned on the ground. 2) Engagement & Lift: Once aligned, the driver activates the hydraulic controls. The hook-arm engages the container's pins securely. Powerful hydraulic rams then lift the front of the container upwards and pivot it over the rear chassis frame of the truck, pulling it fully onto the truck bed. 3) Securing & Transport: Once the container is fully seated on the truck frame, safety latches or locks are engaged (manually or automatically) to secure it firmly for transport. The truck then drives to the designated disposal site (landfill, transfer station, recycling center). 4) Unloading: At the disposal point, the driver positions the truck, releases the securing locks, and reverses the hydraulic process. The hook-arm slowly lowers the front of the container until it makes ground contact, then disengages the pins, leaving the container ready for emptying. 5) Retrieval (Optional): After the container is emptied, the truck can reload the same container (or a different one) using the same lifting process to return it to its service location.
