What is the difference between a straight boom truck mounted crane and a folding arm truck mounted crane? How to choose?

The working radius of the straight boom truck-mounted crane is wider: under the same boom length, the straight-boom truck-mounted crane can also expand the working depth by lengthening the wire hook, while the folding boom truck-mounted crane is not easy to complete the work with deep requirements.
Secondly: the folding arm occupies less space in the vehicle: it is clear at a glance in the space occupied, the folding arm crane can shrink the entire boom together when transporting goods, and the space occupied is relatively smaller, while the straight arm crane, the boom can only be placed horizontally, and the vehicle occupies a large space when driving.
The folding arm can be equipped with various auxiliary tools: the folding arm crane adopts a device of hydraulic cylinder to form a device similar to an articulated arm manipulator, which can be equipped with empty work platform, working bucket, tool, basket, plate fork, high various grippers, augers, tire loading manipulators and pile pullers and other auxiliary tools. Since the front end of the straight arm truck-mounted crane is a soft wire rope, it is rare to see the extension arm to be equipped with auxiliary devices.
Folding arm is more suitable for narrow working environments: this is determined by its structure, folding boom mounted crane is more suitable for relatively narrow working environments such as factories and warehouses, while straight boom truck-mounted crane requires more application space due to its structure.
Folding arm mounted crane works more efficiently: Because the folding arm mounted crane adopts multiple hydraulic cylinders to form a joint-like boom connection mechanism, it is faster to complete the action and work more efficiently. The straight boom truck-mounted crane adopts a set of wire rope retraction and lifting mechanism, the drum is turned forward to retract the rope, the hook rises, and the reverse rope hook falls, and its work efficiency is relatively low.
